Milo clinic was recently featured in the Easy Living magazine. The journalist questioned Dr Milojevic extensively on all things to do with eye rejuvenation and eye protection. With the summer looming at the time of the publication, this was concieved as a guide to healthier and more youthful eyes.

This was an exemplary article, stretching over 4 pages and tackling many topics. Dr Milojevic spoke about botox for wrinkles around the eyes, tear trough procedures with restylane for non surgical eyebag corrections and generally spoke about protection from the harmful UVA and UVB rays.

To all our readers: Enjoy a long and relaxing summer!

Please follow the link above an you will go straight through to the latest Daily mail newspaper article , in which Dr Milojevic was asked to comment on several of our top celebs and their increasingly youthful and yet quite natural looking appearances.

Here are some of his comments from the article:

JENNIFER ANNISTON (A long time favourite actress of ours, we have loved her since her days in Friends)

Dr Milojevic says: ‘Jen looks great and never seems to age, keeping her appearance looking fresh and youthful.

‘It looks as though she has regular Botox around her eyes and in her forehead as it’s very wrinkle-free. It also appears she’s had neckline Botox to keep her decolletage tight and unlined.’

GWYNETH PALTROW (Another favourite, and our very own living in London)

Nick Milojevic says: ‘I would say Gwyneth Paltrow has had a subtle dose of baby Botox.

‘Gwyneth is naturally beautiful but considering she’s 37 it is possible that she’s had cheek fillers to plump and smooth the skin and also a non-surgical neck lift to tighten the skin beneath her neck.’

SARAH JESSICA PARKER (Sex in the City star)

But Dr Milojevic believes: ‘Although Sarah Jessica Parker looks fantastic and natural, she has almost certainly had Botox in the “frown” lines on the brow and around the eyes.

‘I would say she has possibly had Botox on her jawline as her jaw is distinctively defined and the skin taut in that area.

‘She may have also had fillers in her cheeks, which look rounder than I’d expect on someone with a face as narrow as hers.

‘To keep her skin looking so fresh and bright she may occasionally have chemical peels such as Obagi Blue peel or dermal roller treatment.’

VICTORIA BECKHAM (need we say more)

And despite claiming only her ‘tan and nails’ are fake, Victoria Beckham, 36, seems to have altered dramatically since starting out with the Spice Girls.

Dr Milojevic says:’Victoria Beckham appears to have had more non-surgical treatments than the other celebrities; she is so different from when she started out with Spice Girls.

Weight loss has played a big part in her changing appearance and she is reported to have had laser lypolysis for body contouring, though I don’t believe this has ever been confirmed.

‘She looks to have had Botox, and possibly a non-surgical eyebrow lift which is a combination of dermal fillers and Botox to achieve statement brows.

‘I’m aware that Victoria has had problems with her skin and to keep it looking rejuvenated and fresh I would imagine she has had a mix of medial microdermabrasion and peels to keep her skin radiant and blemish free. ‘

The journalists writing this piece coined a phrase : THE NO TRACE FACE, and we agree, even though these 4 favourite household names have had lots of aesthetic work done , this can only be detected by the professional eye. And this encompasses and confirms all that is good about medical minimally invasive aesthetics… If done by a good and experienced doctor, the results can be perfectly natural. However, as you will see the Daily Mail article goes on to show how , unfortunately there are lots of famous stars out there who were not lucky enough to fall in the hands of a competent and experienced specialist!

As Dr Milojevic put it in his final comment for the article:

‘The beauty of non-surgical treatments is that if they are done well they give a fantastically natural look, leaving patients looking fresher, younger and more healthy without any obvious traces of a doctor’s needle.”

And so say all of us….

ps Well done David Cameron, and good luck as PM! I am sure that you will do a great job for the country…

We are proud to announce that Dr Nick Milojevic was once again featured in the UK press last week in the top selling Look magazine. Hot on the heels of last month’s Milo clinic coverage in Grazia , Look again covered Dr Milojevic’s pioneering tear trough treatment, also known as Non-Surgical eyebag removal. The article covered 6 of the new “nip/tweaks” popular with the A-listers, and in fact Dr Milojevic was originally contacted as the leading UK surgeon for 3 of them: non-surgical eye bag treatment, baby botox, and nose shaping procedures, and helped the Look journalist put together all 3 topics. However, as you will see for one reason or another, Dr Milojevic was eventually only specifically mentioned for one of them, but more on that and the fickleness of magazine editors in our latest blog. Just click on: http://www.miloclinic.com/blog/?p=252 , to read more about this… All very interesting stuff!!

You can find the full article scanned in below. Stacy Whitham is our very own patient, and you can see her before and after photos on our website.

As a small preview to the blog, the baby botox section credits Harley Medical Group as the experts, but guess who originally pioneered this procedure at the Harley Medical Group, and guess who helped the journalist write this piece…

We are proud to inform you that Dr Milojevic and the Milo clinic were featured in last week’s Health and Beauty section of the Grazia magazine on page 136.

Over the last couple of years , Dr Milojevic has been working very hard indeed at developing his techniques for non-surgical eye bag removal (”the tear trough”) procedure as well as his pioneering non surgical nose shaping with dermal fillers, and he is now recognised by the national press as THE leading expert for these two procedures in the UK. These are two procedures with the wow-factor, which can achieve results which were previoulsy deemed only possible through surgical procedures. Dr Milojevic recently gave a press briefing to 20 of UK’s leading journalists on these two procedures, so look out for many more articles featuring Dr Milojevic in the weeks to come.

Dr Milojevic is now being asked to travel the country and the world to teach and lecture on these procedures.

The journalist who wrote the famous article “The rise of the pillow face”, named this article, “The rise of the Tweakment”, a clever play of words, calling these risk and surgery free “tweaks”, which make a big big difference.

You can read more about these procedures on our pages on:

http://www.miloclinic.com/treatments/nose-shaping.aspx and http://www.miloclinic.com/treatments/tear-trough.aspx

As a result of this article, our telephones have not stopped ringing, making an already overbooked clinic even busier. So as an apology to everyone, we are sorry that our waiting lists have somewhat increased, but we do hope that you will see that it was well worth waiting for. We are of course working very hard indeed to open up extra dates and clinics to acommodate everyone.

Last month, Dr Milojevic was interviewed in Marie Claire magazine, and discussed the worrying trend of online DIY BOTOX. So what is DIY botox or aesthetic treatments such as the “self injection” of dermal fillers? It is the worrying advent, of recession hit patients turning to search engines in order to find botox they can buy themselves cheaply online. As shown in the thumbnail on the right, Marie Claire have published a picture of the Botox kit they were able to purchase online, illegally and without any prescriptions, which are necessary in the UK in order to be able to administer botox. The kit provides botox , needles and even a do it yourself manual, and face map!

Dr Milojevic explained the huge dangers of such practice, and advised Marie Claire readers not to attempt any such DIY “adventures”. He explained that the dangers included wrongly dosed botox, resulting in either no result at all, or much worse , botox overdose which could result in droops, paralysis and worse still severe systemic illness. Also, the botox may well be contaminated if it is being imported and sold illegally, and this could result in poisoning or transmission of illnesses such as viruses. Wrongly injected botox or dermal fillers could result in skin necrosis. ( there is a photo of skin necrosis around he mouth in the above Marie Claire article thumbnail)

Dr Milojevic went on to explain, that even if the materials bought online turned out to be genuine and uncontaminated, to perform a successful botox treatment it takes a highly trained and experienced doctor to get a natural, and side-effect free result. So the moral to this story? If you want to avoid the dreaded droop or the frozen look, and just want to be naturally rejuvenated, avoid the do it yourself botox manuals!! Don’t forget, your face is not an Ikea chest of drawers!

Below is a news article/blog in Croatian, about a recent biographic interview in Croatia’s leading magazine, Globus, about Dr Nick Milojevic and his father Prof Bosko Milojevic. The translation of the headline in Croatian would read something like :” The heir to the Croatian king of the scalpel!”

The sub headline reads: ” London’s King of Botox, the son of the doyen of Croatian aesthetic plastic surgery Prof Bosko Milojevic who operated on some of the most famous celebrities and politicians of former Yugoslavia, announces his return to Zagreb.”

For the whole article, please click on the article thumbnail on the right.

Uzivamo u njegovim predivnim slikama svaki dan, a moja mala dvo godisnja kcer Hana pokaze prstom i kaze SLIKA BOSKO.

Vas

Dr Nikola Milojevic

“Estetski Pacijent”

Below is today’s article in the Guardian Newspaper asking the question : “Why do politicians sweat so much?” Triggered by sweaty politicians trying to explain away the Lockerbie fiasco, the Guardian reporter called us asking what does cause sweating, and is botox really the answer? Our very own Dr Nick Milojevic (the eagle eyed readers among you will have noticed that the Guardian misspelt his name as Mioljevic!!), answered these questions, and below is the full text:

When Bill Rammell, MP for Harlow, appeared drenched in sweat on BBC television on Tuesday night, he joined a growing number of politicians whose statements have taken second place to their sweat patches. As he grew increasingly uncomfortable under the hot studio lights – and the line of questioning – his face became wetter and wetter and thoughts turned away from what the former foreign office minister had to say on Libya and more to whether someone would hand him a handkerchief.

He’s not the first politician to suffer such an embarrassment. In a 1960 televised debate with JFK, Richard Nixon famously dashed his presidential hopes after his clammy face made him appear shifty and untrustworthy, while Bill Clinton came over all damp of brow when asked about his intern Monica Lewinsky. And who can forget the sight of Tony Blair, drenched in sweat, trying to defend his Iraq policy.

Mark Borkowski, head of Borkowski PR, says: “It’s an unfortunate and human foible, but everything is so finely tuned in image-making these days that anything that comes across as an imperfection becomes the focus. If you sweat, you have to take control of it.”

Some pressed powder and a suit free of polyester blends would probably have done the trick for Rammell, though he might want to take slightly more drastic action to make sure “sweatgate” doesn’t rear its glistening head again. Dr Nikola Mioljevic, of the Milo Clinic in London, is known as the “Botox king” and has treated numerous politicians. “You can use Botox to stop sweating anywhere,” he explains. “It’s an extremely common procedure and takes about 15 minutes to do, but lasts for between six and 12 months. Sweating can ruin lives. This gives people confidence.”

Perhaps that’s how Peter Mandelson never loses his cool?

In September’s issue of the Company magazine, Dr Nick Milojevic gave an in depth interview discussing the terrifying advent of websites promoting DIY botox.

These are websites selling cheap, stolen and quite probably contaminated botox, and they come with face maps, needles and syringes, telling the prospective DIY patient where and how to inject the toxin.

E-Bay did for a short time sell such “packages” of botox online, but they did swiftly remove the items.

Dr Milojevic found this a rather shocking revalation, and he advised all readers of Company magazine to stear clear of any online DIY botox, dermal fillers or any other DIY aesthetic treatments, as the consequences could be disasterous. The side effects can include short term results such as heavy eye droop, brow droop, facial assimetry or lumpiness to name but a few. But what is a lot more worrying are more serious side effects such as skin infection, skin necrosis, systemic infection or even death.

Dr Milojevic also commented that these “one size fits all” maps sounded horrific, as cosmetic doctors know that every face is different, and each botox treatment is tailor made to the individual patient.

So the moral to this magazine interview? Don’t poison yourself with horrible, stolen, high dose or contaminated batches of botox or dermal filler, but seek out a qualified, and superbly trained doctor, preferrably a member of the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors.
